Prohibited practices in force
Article 5 prohibitions are enforceable. Violations carry fines up to €35M or 7% of global turnover.
GPAI obligations in force
General-purpose AI providers must comply with transparency and documentation requirements under Articles 53-55.
High-risk obligations (Annex III)
Full compliance required for high-risk AI systems in areas including recruitment, credit scoring, law enforcement, and critical infrastructure.
Product safety obligations (Annex I)
AI systems embedded in regulated products (medical devices, machinery, vehicles) must meet AI Act requirements alongside existing product safety rules.
